RETREATS “My baggage was piling up on the doorstep to my soul. I had to get away and rediscover who I was…” (Retreat Participant) The poet, Mary Oliver, asks, “What do you plan to do with your wild and precious life?” Sometimes we have to break away and find a place of solitude to find renewal and tap into our “true Selves.” We hope you will find Lotus Garden retreats to be the perfect combination of bed and breakfast style lodging, nurturing meals, storytelling, guided imagery sessions, artistic expression, and bodywork to rediscover your passions so you can go home and live them in your daily life. Retreat topics vary to include couples dynamics, women’s issues, depression, codependency, grief processing, healer burnout, soul unmasking, single parenting, PMS and menopause, addiction intensives, and any suggested mind-body-soul topic Lotus Garden has qualified personnel to support. Whether you enjoy communing with nature, immersing yourself in art, diving into your imagination, or simply want to be a Human Being instead of a Human Doing for a weekend, contact Lotus Garden to determine the best retreat for you. Meals, accommodations, and all supplies are incorporated into the cost of the retreat. Workshops traditionally start mid-day Friday and finish Sunday afternoon. Retreats are alcohol and drug free. 23-25 September, 2005 – Fall Harvest. ($475/person or $800 for two) Fall brings about a time of endings and transitions. Sometimes the grief work is literal, about people or pets we have lost; and, often it is about the awareness around the loss of things that “could have been” or the change in a job, divorce, letting go of a crutch like alcohol or drugs, etc. There are many things we grieve and Fall seems to be the perfect time, as the leaves change and fall to the ground, so must our tears. This workshop is full of grief rituals and experiential techniques to address any and all types of grief. 20-22 January, 2006 – Healing the Healers. ($475/person or $800 for two) Call it healer burnout, compassion fatigue, or vicarious retraumatization... helping others takes a toll on the helper! Sometimes as professionals, we forget to take care of ourselves and our need to express feelings, share tears, struggles, and successes. This workshop is the direct result of Beverly’s master’s thesis incorporating insight on burnout, support from other healers, experiential techniques, and catharsis using the Native American medicine wheel as a reflective tool. Each participant leaves the workshop with an assessment of their burnout level AND a plan to handle it after they leave! | ||
