ABOUT US

Mission Statement:  Lotus Garden is a service organization dedicated to providing healing opportunities on the central California coast and around the world.

The idea for Lotus Garden, Inc manifested itself in July, 2001 and the business formally incorporated May, 2002.  The partners realize they have a gift to share and are able to tag-team to create a successful business based on their varied backgrounds.  Both partners have extensive experience in successful business ventures as well as 12-step and other workshops and retreats they personally have experienced throughout the country.  Additionally, Kimberli has abundant experience creating and facilitating training programs in a variety of topics while Beverly ran a successful private practice for drug and alcohol counseling and currently works in a private practice in Santa Maria, California.  The Lotus Garden logo below symbolizes what Beverly and Kimberli hope to facilitate for others.

The logo is a circle representing perfection, unity, protection, the cyclical process of life and nature, and the ultimate state of Oneness.  The primary colors inside the circle are violet and blue.  Blue stands for time and space, sincerity, heavenly truth, sorrow, devotion, spirituality, courage, fairness, and love while violet is to remind us of humility, sympathy, memories, love of truth, and purification.  Inside the circle, a lotus flower is opening.  The lotus represents spiritual evolution, the mystic center inside us, as well as human rebirth.  In nature, the lotus flower blooms from the mud by the magic of the sunlight.  The sunlight represents healing, the renewal of life, balance between the conscious and unconscious, and liberation from physical limitations.  The sun is yellow symbolizing joy, truth, intuition, intellect, the yin energy, and fruitfulness.  Rising towards the sunlight from the center of the lotus flower is a black snake.  The snake represents the wisdom.

Interpretations are taken from the book, "Symbolism" A comprehensive dictionary compiled by Steven Olderr, 1986, McFarland & Company, Inc., Publishers.
